BARING CROSS CLEAN-UP
Saturday, June 12, 2010
MEMBERS OF NLR CHURCHES - men, women children - are invited to roll up their sleeves and join in a community service project on Saturday, June 12, in the Baring Cross area. We will meet at 8:00 at the NLR Salvation Army facility at 1505 West 18th Street to receive assignments. You are asked to bring gloves and yard and garden tools (clippers, shears, hand saws, etc.) that might be helpful in trimming back growth in alleyways. At 11:30 a.m. volunteers will enjoy a picnic lunch donated by Kroger and cooked and served by members of the NLR Police Department. We hope you will help our church have a good representation at this event. For more information, call the Rev. Bill Singleton at 612-7460.

“I’m just sayin” is what the youth say when they are plainly speaking the facts. The youth and several adults from Gardner are going to Mt. Eagle Christian Center on June 13. They will stay and work there until Thursday morning. At the end of the week they will go do something fun. Please keep this wonderful group in your prayers from now until they return. Pray for their travel safety, safety for the teams as they work, and as always for their ministry to others while together and apart. This year the group has raised $3,511.17 toward this trip and we owe it all to you for your faithful support. We sure couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for always being there for the youth. So I’m just sayin’ each of you has led Gardner’s youth by thought, word, and deed, just as Jesus did, for many years. We love you all. Joy

They meet quarterly for a light meal, business meeting and program. There are five fellowships that you are invited to join. There are four that meet in the day - Lamplighters, Serendipity, Bible Study and Visitation - and two that meet in the evenings - Progressive and Sharing. If you would like more information on these fellowships, please call the office.
